After more than a decade of collaboration, JetBlue and Hawaiian Airlines are going their separate ways. According to Men’s Journal, the two carriers, which began a codeshare and loyalty program partnership back in 2012, will officially end their agreement on September 30, 2025.
For frequent flyers who’ve been using JetBlue’s TrueBlue program to earn or redeem points on Hawaiian Airlines flights, this marks a significant change. According to JetBlue, travelers can still book Hawaiian-operated flights and earn or redeem TrueBlue points through the end of September, but all travel must be completed by March 31, 2026.
"TrueBlue is the only airline partner loyalty program that lets you earn and redeem on qualifying Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights to and from the U.S. mainland. Hawaiian’s network spans over 30 destinations—from the mainland and across the Pacific—with easy connections with JetBlue’s network," according to the low-cost carrier’s website.
The codeshare arrangement has allowed customers to earn TrueBlue points when flying Hawaiian Airlines, depending on fare type and flight distance. But, with the arrangement now on its way out, travelers hoping to take advantage of the current benefits should plan their bookings sooner rather than later.
"We wanted to let you know that our loyalty partnership with Hawaiian Airlines will be coming to an end," JetBlue wrote. "The last day you can book Hawaiian Airlines flights to earn or redeem TrueBlue points will be 9/30/25, and travel must be completed by 3/31/26. The deadline to submit any retroactive requests to earn TrueBlue points on Hawaiian is also 3/31/26. We apologize for any inconvenience."
JetBlue hasn’t commented on whether a new airline partnership might take Hawaiian’s place in the TrueBlue program, but it wouldn’t be too surprising to see a fresh alliance form in the future.
For now, loyal customers should mark their calendars and think about upcoming travel plans to ensure they maximize their TrueBlue benefits before the partnership officially ends.
