Celebrity Cruises is sharing more details about the spaces onboard its forthcoming ship, Celebrity Xcel.
The new vessel, slated to debut in November, will spend its first season in Fort Lauderdale, offering 7-night sailings to The Bahamas, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Puerto Plata, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Next summer, the vessel will head across the Atlantic to Europe to offer 7- to 11-night journeys from Barcelona and Athens.
“Celebrity Xcel will set sail with seven new elevated experiences that invite guests to escape their daily routine and make memories that will last a lifetime,” says Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises. “With so much innovation at every turn, the journey will be just as fun as the destinations themselves.”
Celebrity Xcel will debut four brand new venues. The Celebrity Pool Club, for example, is a new enhanced poolside space, with chilled towels, card games, sunscreen, storage and plenty of shade. Private cabanas with dedicated service are also available.
On the last sea day of every Caribbean itinerary, the Celebrity Pool Club will become the “Poolest Day Ever,” with Caribbean-inspired live music, DJ-spun tunes, pop-up shows, pool games and exclusive poolside drinks. At night, the space will host the “Shine the Night” poolside party.
Celebrity Xcel will also feature an adults-oriented arcade lounge called Attic at The Club featuring retro games like Pac-Man, NBA Showtime, Golden Tee and more. Other activities include pool, darts, foosball and shuffleboard, as well as a private event space with karaoke and golf simulation games.
The ship will be home to Celebrity’s largest spa yet, offering more than 120 treatments and therapies, an expanded salon and an interactive shopping experience. The relaxing space will feature the line’s first-ever Hydra Room, which offers water-focused wellness experiences like a warm, bubbling pool with massaging jets and heated lounge chairs. The spa will also have a new outdoor Vitamin D Deck that’s exclusive to Thermal Suite guests.
Guests will also find Celebrity Cruises’ first-ever Celebrity Flagship store onboard. The retail experience doubles as an interactive exhibit celebrating all things Celebrity, complete with trivia questions, insider facts, historical artifacts and vintage collectibles. The store will offer a range of customizable items that can be engraved, embroidered or printed, such as water bottles, cocktail kits, keychains, caps and robes. Celebrity Flagship will also offer one-of-a-kind Celebrity products only available on Celebrity Xcel.
