TikTok has announced the launch of TikTok Travel Ads — the
first TikTok
ad format built from the ground up with travel in mind.
Powered by Smart+, Travel Ads is a catalog-based performance
solution built specifically for travel advertisers, enabling them to
automatically promote their hotels, flights, and destinations using
personalized, catalog-integrated creatives.
With travel-specific optimization models, the solution
identifies high-intent audiences ready to book and matches them with travel
offerings based on their in-market activities and preferences, delivering
greater relevance, higher engagement, and stronger campaign performance.
David Hoctor, head of US Verticals, Travel and Gaming, Tik
Tok said in a statement, “Travel on TikTok goes beyond the For You feed,
unlocking real-life travel experiences. With TikTok Travel Ads, advertisers can
leverage dynamic ad creatives and travel-first intent signals to seamlessly
guide the TikTok community from discovery to booking—making every swipe a step
toward conversion.”
Each Travel Ad features a clickable travel card with relevant
information such as hotel name, ratings, pricing, flight information and discounts,
helping
travelers make informed decisions while planning their trip.
Travel Ads are available in three formats to include:
- Single video- a standard video set up
during the campaign creation flow, featuring up to 10 travel cards dynamically
generated from the travel catalog and overlaid on the video.
- Catalog Video- where assets are uploaded
to the catalog and matched to a single product item (e.g., hotel, flight, destination)
to include a single travel card dynamically generated from the catalog for the
same product and overlaid on the video.
- Carousel-dynamically pulls images from
your product catalog to create a carousel. Each image includes a clickable
product tag populated from the catalog. Clicking the product tag directs users
to the corresponding product link. A single ad caption is used across all
carousel images. Background music is required and plays in a continuous loop.
