Airline access into the U.S. Virgin Islands is expanding significantly, with several carriers boosting service into the destination, according to the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism.

During the upcoming winter season from November 2025 through February 2026, St. Croix will experience a 16 percent year-over-year increase in seats from the continental U.S. (an additional 10,800 seats). American Airlines is driving this growth with a 29 percent increase (+11,900 seats), while JetBlue is experiencing 52 percent growth (+6,000 seats).

American will debut a new Saturday service from Chicago to St. Croix, beginning December 6, 2025, alongside upgraded daily service to St. Thomas, launching on December 18.

St. Thomas is also projected to record significant airlift increases, with a 9 percent year-over-year growth in overall capacity (+31,500 seats), including a 15 percent surge from the continental U.S. and a 55 percent boost in international service.

Delta is leading growth into the market with a 33 percent increase (+19,700 seats), followed by American with 15 percent (+15,800 seats) and United at 14 percent (+7,300 seats). New services will launch with Southwest Airlines flying from St. Thomas to Baltimore and Orlando and Delta from St. Thomas to Boston.

The expanded flights will enable the U.S. Virgin Islands to present its “strongest winter airlift to date,” from gateways in Boston, Chicago, Miami, Charlotte, and Washington, D.C., according to Department of Tourism officials.
