Riviera Travel is celebrating the launch of its newest ship, Riviera Radiance.

The 178-guest ship recently completed its maiden voyage on the Danube River, taking guests on the 15-day “Budapest to the Black Sea River Cruise” itinerary. The innovative new river ship has a split-level design, three distinct dining venues and the line’s largest-ever suites.

Riviera Radiance is the second new Riviera Travel ship to launch this year, following the Riviera Rose, which debuted on Portugal’s Douro River in April.

“The launch of Riviera Radiance represents an exciting step forward for Riviera Travel as we continue to evolve our river cruise offerings,” says Stuart Milan, president of North America for Riviera Travel. “With our most spacious suites to-date and the introduction of a third dining venue onboard—something our guests have been asking for—Riviera Radiance is setting a new standard for comfort and choice on Europe’s waterways.”

Designed in an airy, contemporary style, the ship has a two-story lounge and main restaurant on the Ruby Deck offering elegant, multi-course dining in a refined setting. It also has the Bistro restaurant on the Diamond Deck, which offers an intimate atmosphere with an open kitchen, panoramic windows and al fresco seating.

In addition, Riviera Radiance also has a brand new restaurant, Mosaic, a tapas-style concept located on the Emerald Deck.

More than 80 percent of the vessel’s 89 cabins have floor-to-ceiling French balconies. The ship also has 344-square-foot Grand Suites, located on the Diamond Deck, which feature a separate living area, a king-size bed and a private balcony with outdoor seating. The 258-square-foot Superior Suites, located on the Diamond and Ruby Decks, offer a comfortable living area featuring a sofa, chair and table. The 172-square-foot standard cabins have a French balcony and indoor seating area, while cabins on the lower deck have fixed windows.

Riviera Radiance will offer seven itineraries on the Danube, ranging from classic journeys and festive sailings to culinary-themed cruises and dedicated solo traveler departures.
