RIU Plaza Hotels continues to expand in metropolises around the world. Its most recent opening was this summer with the debut of the Riu Plaza London Victoria, which opened its doors at the end of July.
The hotel occupies a 12-story building that was originally built in the 1960s and was completely renovated in the 1990s. In its transformation to the Riu Plaza London Victoria, the property was completely redone, maintaining its most characteristic features while also including the latest developments in energy efficiency.
The 435-room hotel is located in central London in the heart of Westminster and just moments from the Victoria Station transportation hub. The location provides visitors an ideal place to stay whether they are traveling for business, pleasure or both. The hotel is easy to reach from both Gatwick and Heathrow airports and is not far from major attractions, including Buckingham Palace and Big Ben.
The first RIU Plaza in the UK, the hotel is located at 1 Neathouse Place. It features a large lobby with a conical dome, flooded with natural light. Throughout the communal spaces are small private areas where guests can visit or work. The lobby bar serves as a central hub of activity and features a lively atmosphere.
The guestrooms feature a modern, comfortable design with contemporary wallpaper and watercolor paintings. Many of the superior suites overlook the city center and the most spacious rooms are on floor -1.
Guests can choose to dine at the hotel. A full buffet breakfast is available at the restaurant in the morning and is included in the room rate. The same restaurant is available for a la carte dining in the evenings.
Also on-property is a fully-equipped 24-hour fitness facility.
