Quark Expeditions is launching a new Arctic cruise itinerary that takes guests through the famed Northwest Passage.
The new 16-day trip, called “Northwest Passage to Newfoundland: Glaciers, Mountains, and Wildlife,” is being offered onboard the company’s new ship Ultramarine. The 2,500-mile journey departs from Calgary, Alberta, on September 18, 2025.
“Quark Expeditions is excited to guide guests for the first time ever, through the Northwest Passage and down the east coast of Baffin Island to Newfoundland and Labrador,” says Catherine Lawton, director of product development at Quark Expeditions.
The ship is equipped with twin-engine helicopters and Zodiac boats for exploring the awe-inspiring scenery. Onboard experts—who specialize in everything from marine biology to geology—will also help guests learn about the destinations like Icy Arm Fjord and Cape Mercy.
“From the tidewater glaciers of Lancaster Sound to the rugged wilderness of the Torngat Mountains and the charming French islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, this 16-day journey provides unsurpassed access to explore the breathtaking scenery, rich topography, history and cultures of the Arctic and North Atlantic,” says Lawton.
