Fincantieri delivered the 177,800-ton, 4,300-guest Star Princess to Princess Cruises during a handover ceremony at its Monfalcone shipyard in Italy.
The ship, which is the second in Princess’ Sphere-class series—Sun Princess being the first—is the 17th vessel in the line’s fleet.
The ship will inaugurate service on October 4, 2025, operating a Mediterranean itinerary roundtrip from Barcelona. Following its transatlantic crossing, Star Princess will begin its season of Caribbean cruises roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale on November 7, 2025.
In the aftermath of its Caribbean season, the ship will transit the Panama Canal en route to Alaska for its inaugural season in the Great Land.
Star Princess is equipped with 1,500 balcony staterooms and includes 30 dining and bar venues; The Sanctuary Collection, “an elevated private escape at sea with access to an exclusive restaurant, the Sanctuary Club; a tranquil, adults-only pool deck; and thoughtfully curated amenities that set a new standard for luxury at sea,” Princess said.
“A handful of Star Princess’ other venues include The Dome entertainment space, the cutting-edge Arena theater and Spellbound by Magic Castle, a speakeasy venue created in partnership with the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.
“Today is a proud moment for Princess as we welcome the new Star Princess to our incredible fleet,” said Princess Cruises President Gus Antorcha.
“This remarkable vessel is a testament to the innovation and craftsmanship of our long-standing partners at Fincantieri, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the shipbuilding team for bringing our newest ship to life,” he added.
