KHM Travel Group has named Marcus Williams as the company’s new DE&I Specialist. As KHM Travel Group’s 2024 DE&I in Action Agent of the Year and Diamond Pinnacle Agent, Marcus brings a combination of experience, passion, and leadership to this position.
In this role, Marcus will step in to lead KHM Travel Group’s current DE&I Committee, including selecting committee members, planning and hosting quarterly meetings, and communicating with Committee members. He will also work to foster relationships with suppliers and industry partners’ DE&I initiatives.
Some of the additional responsibilities Marcus will take on include contributing to KHM Travel Group’s exclusive online DE&I Resource Library, sharing “DE&I Minute” presentations during the company’s monthly staff meetings, and developing new ways to engage diverse groups of agents through support, resources, and events.
“We started our DE&I journey back in 2017 and thanks to the dedication and perspectives of travel advisors like Marcus, we have seen industry-wide progress, specifically in consumer advertising and marketing resources offered. We know there is still a lot of work to be done and are confident that Marcus is the perfect person to collaborate with our team to continue making a positive change for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in travel,” said KHM Travel Group President and CEO Rick Zimmerman.
Another area that Marcus will be leading is the host agency’s BIPOC Agent Resource Group. This group was designed to foster travel advisor connections among people of color. It provides a dedicated space for agents to exchange ideas, communicate challenges, and celebrate growth. Marcus will work alongside the company’s Engagement team to build on this concept and offer more opportunities for smaller agent communities.
Marcus founded his own travel agency Impressive Travels with the goal of providing exceptional travel experiences, particularly for minority travelers, showcasing the feasibility and affordability of travel. As an avid traveler, Marcus shares his own experiences to help his clients create unique trips including destination weddings, group travel, luxury getaways, and more.
