Air Canada has announced that its nonstop flights between Ottawa and London Heathrow will continue through Winter 2025-26, providing year-round connectivity between Canada's capital and one of the world's most important international gateways. The flights are now available for booking through the airline's website, contact centers and travel advisors.

The decision reflects Air Canada's commitment to serving the National Capital Region and providing seamless international travel options for business, corporate and leisure travelers. Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air Canada, emphasized the airline's leadership in connecting Ottawa to global markets and the convenience this year-round service offers customers.

"Air Canada continues to solidify its leadership serving our country's capital and we are excited to keep Ottawa connected to one of the world’s most important global gateways all year long," said Galardo. Customers travelling for business, corporate and leisure from the National Capital Region and abroad will enjoy the ease and convenience of international travel options to and from Ottawa."

The route extension carries economic implications beyond passenger travel. With increased cargo capacity, the route will provide businesses with faster, more reliable access to UK and European markets, supporting investment and job creation.

Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe welcomed the announcement, citing frequent requests from business leaders and residents for more direct international connections.

"The connection to London has been very successful and well-received. Expanding to year-round service will enhance Ottawa's success as both a business and visitor destination," said Sutcliffe. "It strengthens our connection to the world, supports economic growth, and makes our city even more accessible as a place to visit, live, and invest in."

Michael Crockatt, President and CEO of Ottawa Tourism, called the extension a tangible signal of confidence in Ottawa as a year-round destination, ensuring vital connectivity with Canada's top overseas market. In addition to London Heathrow, Air Canada will operate over 450 weekly flights to and from Ottawa this winter.
