JetBlue and United are rolling out the first benefit for travelers as part of their new loyalty collaboration.

The airlines announced on Thursday that passengers can now earn and redeem points and miles on flights across each of the carrier’s networks.

JetBlue and United announced a loyalty program partnership earlier this year that would allow frequent passengers of both airlines to access reciprocal benefits when flying with either carrier. The partnership, dubbed “Blue Sky,” is one of the most consequential loyalty collaborations between U.S. carriers in recent years.

With this latest development, travelers will now see flight options across both airlines’ networks when searching for award flights to book with points or miles on JetBlue or United’s sites.

“With reciprocal earning and redemption now available, Blue Sky is officially taking flight,” the airlines said in a joint statement. “We’re excited to give our loyalty members the ability to use the program of their choice when traveling across our complementary networks.”

The ability to earn and redeem on both airlines’ flights is a significant milestone in the loyalty partnership, and there are still more reciprocal benefits to come. Starting in early 2026, travelers can expect to see each airline honor elite status perks like priority boarding, preferred and extra legroom seating, and same-day standby and flight changes.

The airlines also plan to roll out the option for revenue booking, including the ability to book itineraries on either airline using cash or points and miles, in the first quarter of 2026. Down the line, JetBlue will also support United’s expansion at New York JFK, sharing access to its slots in Terminal 6 for up to seven daily roundtrip flights as soon as 2027.

The loyalty collaboration was first announced in May and received government approval in July 2025.
