In an industry first, Celebrity Cruises is inviting travelers to design their dream vacation with the Xcel Dream Makers program, a global community that will test, try and vote on new experiences to be added to the line’s newest ship, the Celebrity Xcel, when it debuts in November 2025.

The cruise line will allow travelers to decide on the final design, culinary and entertainment elements of the fifth Edge Series ship.

Those interested in becoming a Dream Maker can apply online, and once they’re in, they can vote on key spaces, choosing textiles and interior design features, picking their favorite dishes and beverages, providing input on music and entertainment offerings and much more.

Celebrity Xcel recently celebrated its float-out on January 18 at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, which is the first time the ship touched the water. It boasts the line’s first tri-fuel engine that can run on three different types of fuels, a move towards reducing carbon emissions.

The ship will sail on seven-night voyages from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean during its inaugural winter season. In summer of 2026, it will sail seven-to-11-night voyages in the Mediterranean.

“We want to ensure our guests love our products and experiences, so involving them in the process to perfect Celebrity Xcel was a great way to achieve this,” shares Michael Scheiner, chief marketing and product officer of Celebrity Cruises. “Celebrity Cruises is known for ground-breaking innovation in ship design and experiences unlike any other at sea, when Xcel launches guests won’t have just found their happy place, they’ll have helped us build it.”
